Ömer Çam

Ömer Çam was born in Selçuk in 1965. He graduated from the Graphic Department of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1991. He started drawing cartoons at the age of 18 and continued to pursue cartooning alongside his main profession as a graphic designer. Starting in 1991, he worked in various advertising agencies in İzmir and Istanbul, first as a graphic designer, then as an art director, and later as an art director. In these roles, he won numerous awards in fields such as posters, campaigns, logos, and emblems.

His cartooning journey began with GIRGIR magazine. He drew and worked in many humor magazines. While studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts, he contributed cartoons to a local newspaper's humor supplement in Izmir. Later, his comics and cartoons were published in magazines like Sinek, Mustafa, Limon, Leman, Dıgıl, Çarşaf, Fırt, and others. From 2005 onwards, he adopted universal lines in cartoons and participated in various national and international cartoon competitions. He won a total of 84 awards and served as a jury member in national cartoon competitions. He received nearly 50 national awards, many of which were first prizes.

In 2008, he held a solo exhibition titled "Seviyor ki çiziyor" at Schneidertempel Art Gallery in Istanbul. Ömer Çam is married and has two daughters. He continues to work as a freelance artist.
